If you have chosen to, or are thinking about embarking on a cleanse, congratulations, it can be one of the most impactful things you’ll do in your life. If done successfully it will be something you will want to do again and again. I have done numerous cleanses over the years and have learned some valuable lessons from them. I’m happy to share with you some powerful lessons I’ve learned. My desire is for you to have the best chance at success and to be empowered to do many more after this, whether it is your first cleanse or the next one…
Commit to it! This is critical because without a serious commitment to it you may never see it though denying you of the benefits you seek.
Create the right mindset. Embrace what you’re doing from a positive perspective. If you believe it will be terrible then it more than likely will be. If you are excited about it, one can have a much better experience. Before all the how to’s and other tips to achieve success in a cleanse having the belief in what you are doing is paramount. Be victorious before you ever get started.
Find a great mentor. It’s been said, it’s not what you know but rather who you know! In this case someone that’s trained in guiding you through a cleanse, or at the very least has been through a cleanse numerous times and has experience in navigating what you’ll be going through and what you’ll need to succeed.
Have a partner and or a group to go through the cleanse with you. This can act as support for you so you are not going at it alone. A partner or support group can also provide accountability. Most people tend to struggle when they don’t have support and aren’t held accountable
Be prepared. If you fail to plan, then plan to fail! Have everything you need to complete the cleanse prior to starting. If you don’t, then you may be scrambling to acquire things you need in the middle of the cleanse that could stifle your progress, potentially halting your cleanse all together.
Think of the cleanse as investment. Not one of monetary gain but rather an investment in the health of your physical body. Your body is much like a bank account, if you spend too much without making a deposit, then soon you have nothing left and you’re in a crisis. If done successfully a cleanse can replenish your health account and be highly beneficial to your well being.
Stay the course. Oftentimes, people get a little off track and it derails their entire cleanse. To error is to be human, if you have a lapse, stick with it and continue on. The worst thing you can do is to not complete this worthwhile venture. If you are struggling, lean on your aforementioned partner or support group to lift you up and encourage you to continue on.
Listen to your body. While doing a cleanse you may go through a wide range of different challenges. Not to despair, every mountain that is climbed will have its trials, but the benefits gained from reaching the top are worth it! Depending on what you are going through during your cleanse there are always adjustments that can be made, so pay attention to how you are feeling physically and emotionally. If you are feeling tired, rest and be sure to stay hydrated. Discuss with the guide you have chosen to work with during your cleanse about changes you see or things you’re experiencing, so the proper adjustments can be made. Be sure to ask questions.
Journal your experience. Whether it’s writing it down in a journal, posting pics to Instagram, documenting with live videos on Facebook or using another social media form to chronicle your journey, just do it! When you can look back on what you’ve accomplished, or possibly share with someone else giving them courage or inspiring them to do a cleanse to improve their life, it will undoubtedly be worth it!
Lastly and certainly not least, have fun! This is your cleanse and your experience. You create what you want. One thing that rings true with anything in life is it’s much easier to get through something having fun!
